A recent incident in Nigeria has sparked outrage and calls for justice. A landlady in Enugwu-Ukwu, Anambra State, allegedly poured a mixture of hot water and pepper on her tenant, Imabong William, while the victim was washing clothes.
According to William, she requested additional time from the landlady, Amaka Okonkwo, to secure a new place to live. Unfortunately, while William was doing laundry on December 7, 2023, Okonkwo attacked her from behind with the scalding mixture.
The incident caused severe burns to William and has left her traumatized.
Okonkwo is currently in police custody, and the incident has garnered significant attention on social media, with many users demanding justice for William under hashtags like #JusticeForImabong, #LandladyAssault, #HotWaterAttack, and #AnambraState.
Many Nigerians are understandably horrified by this act of cruelty and are calling for swift and appropriate punishment for the landlady. This incident highlights the importance of tenant rights and raises concerns about the potential for abuse in landlord-tenant relationship
