Colby Covington Gets a Boost: Donald Trump to Attend UFC 296 Title Fight

UFC welterweight contender Colby Covington is heading into his title fight against Leon Edwards with a significant boost in his corner: former US President Donald Trump.

Trump confirmed his attendance at UFC 296, which takes place on December 16th in Las Vegas, Nevada. The former president will be in the audience to support Covington's bid for the welterweight championship.

This isn't the first time Trump has supported Covington. In 2018, he became the first UFC fighter to visit the White House. Covington has been vocal about his admiration for Trump, and the two have developed a close personal relationship.

Covington shared his excitement about Trump's attendance in a recent interview. He said, "It's an incredible honor to have the greatest president in history, 45 and soon to be 47th president of the United States, Donald J. Trump, in attendance front row."

Trump's presence at the fight will undoubtedly give Covington a psychological boost. His supporters will be energized, and the atmosphere will be electric. Whether this translates into a victory for Covington remains to be seen, but it certainly adds an extra layer of intrigue to the already highly anticipated matchup.

Edwards, for his part, seems unfazed by Trump's presence. He said, "He's always playing a character, and some of the sh*t he's coming out and saying just doesn't make sense to me." Edwards is focused on the fight itself and believes he has what it takes to dethrone Covington and become UFC welterweight champion.

The UFC 296 main event is shaping up to be a classic. Both Covington and Edwards are elite fighters with a lot to prove. The addition of Trump to the mix makes the fight even more interesting.

Only time will tell who will emerge victorious, but one thing is for sure: the atmosphere at UFC 296 will be electric!
